FAQ

What is the difference between mechanical and proximity limit switches?
Mechanical limit switches use physical contact (a lever or plunger) to detect valve position, suitable for most applications. Proximity switches (inductive or magnetic) provide non-contact sensing, ideal for high-cycle, high-speed, or harsh environments where mechanical switches would wear prematurely.
What does a positioner do and when is it needed?
A positioner compares the control signal (4-20mA) to the actual valve position and adjusts actuator pressure to achieve accurate positioning. It compensates for friction, wear, and process variations. Positioners are essential for modulating control applications requiring ±1% accuracy or better.
What is the function of a filter regulator in a pneumatic system?
A filter regulator combines filtration (removing moisture, oil, and particulates down to 40μm or 5μm) and pressure regulation (adjusting supply pressure to the required level). It ensures clean, dry, and stable air supply to protect pneumatic valves and actuators, extending service life.
What are the key specifications for selecting a solenoid valve?
Key specifications include: port size, flow capacity (Cv), operating pressure range, voltage (AC/DC), power consumption, protection rating (IP), and mounting standard (NAMUR or direct pipe). Choose based on your actuator size, air supply, and control system requirements.
Are KINKO accessories compatible with other brands’ actuators and valves?
Yes. KINKO accessories feature NAMUR and ISO 5211 standard mounting interfaces, ensuring compatibility with most major brands. Custom mounting brackets are available for non-standard installations.
